It's advisable to post "NO TRESPASSING" signs in highly visible areas on your property.

But before you can post the sign(s), you must complete a Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 41.24 No Trespass Authorization Form with the LAPD and deliver the completed form to the police department or American Legion Post. This form authorizes the police department to arrest a trespasser in your absence.

If you’re unable to drop off the form, we can help submit it to the LAPD West LA Division on your behalf. Complete our Trespass Intake Google form and upload your signed LAMC 41.24 within the form.

Once the form is filed, you can put up your signs.

For more information, read the LAPD’s tips here and Sue Pascoe’s “Circling the News” article.

To review, there are 4 steps:

  1. Order the sign(s). (This sign listing LAMC 41.24 is not currently available on Amazon.)

  2. Download and complete the trespass form.

  3. Submit your completed form in-person at the police station or American Legion Post — or use our trespass intake form and we will file your completed 41.24 form on your behalf.

  4. Once the form is filed, you can put up your signs.
