Our Fiscal Sponsorship

Team Palisades is a grassroots group supporting Pacific Palisades recovery after disaster. Through a trusted Block Captain and Neighborhood Rep network, we provide hands-on help, timely information, and community-led coordination. We exist to support — not control — empowering neighbors to rebuild better, stronger, together.

Team Palisades is proud to operate under the fiscal sponsorship of Edward Charles Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

This means that while Team Palisades is not a tax-exempt organization on its own, we are able to accept tax-deductible donations and grants through our partnership with Edward Charles Foundation (ECF). ECF provides back-office support and compliance so that we can focus on serving our community.

What Is Fiscal Sponsorship?

Fiscal sponsorship is a legal and financial relationship in which a recognized nonprofit (like ECF) extends its tax-exempt status to a mission-aligned project (like Team Palisades). It allows grassroots initiatives to receive charitable contributions, apply for grants, and operate with greater transparency and accountability — without having to form their own nonprofit entity.

Why We Chose This Model

Team Palisades is a volunteer-led effort focused on post-wildfire recovery, neighborhood resilience, and community well-being. Rather than spending time and resources forming a standalone nonprofit, fiscal sponsorship allows us to:

  • Accept tax-deductible donations

  • Apply for funding and grants

  • Operate in compliance with nonprofit regulations

  • Focus our energy on direct community impact

Donations

All donations to Team Palisades are processed through Edward Charles Foundation and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. You will see Edward Charles Foundation listed on donation receipts and financial records as our fiscal sponsor.

If you have questions about donations, fiscal sponsorship, or how funds are used, please don’t hesitate to contact us — transparency and trust are central to everything we do.
