    We are a neighbor-led, community-powered group formed after the January 2025 wildfire, implementing After the Fire USA’s Block Captain framework to share trusted information and strengthen community connection, resilience, and recovery.

    Not every Palisadian has the means, background, or stamina to navigate the challenges of the coming months and years. We are neighbors helping neighbors with trusted information, connection, and care to help ensure a Palisades homecoming for all who wish to return.

How We Work

Our Block Captains and Neighborhood Reps hold regular meetings, share helpful information, and keep the community connected.

They work in tandem with our Core Team and expert advisors to get the word out across Six Focus Areas.

  • Block Captains are the heart of this effort. A Block Captain is a trusted neighbor who connects, informs, and supports Palisadians on a single street, block, or cluster of homes.

    A Neighborhood Rep oversees an entire neighborhood or zone and acts as the primary liaison between Block Captains and Core Team.

  • We work closely with other local groups to share information, events, and resources.

    Thanks to the Block Captain model, the Palisades can build an improved community infrastructure to increase security and safety for the years ahead.

    Our efforts support and complement the work of Pacific Palisades Community Council, while giving neighbors a friendly contact.

  • Team Palisades grew out of borrowed corners and improvised meeting rooms. In the weeks after the January 2025 fire, neighbors found each other on glitchy Zoom calls, over cups of coffee in local shops, and squeezed into borrowed spaces around town. Out of those small, determined encounters came a shared conviction: that recovery would be stronger if it was built by the community itself, with many voices and many hands at the table.

    That spirit took root one Saturday in March, when a group of Palisades residents gathered at Team Molly’s space. World Central Kitchen served us a hot meal, and between bites we began sketching out what support could look like—block by block, family by family, and business by business. What started as conversation around folding tables has since grown into a living framework for rebuilding: block captains connecting neighbors, volunteers stepping forward with skills and time, and a widening circle of partners committed to our long-term recovery.

    We’ve come far since those first tentative meetings, but our work is still just beginning. Team Palisades welcomes new energy, new ideas, and new neighbors every day. Whether you join as a volunteer, a partner, or simply as a voice in the conversation, you are part of writing the next chapter of our community. This is the essence of our work: neighbors helping neighbors, not just to restore what was lost, but to create a Palisades that is stronger, more connected, and more welcoming than ever before.
